On Tuesday, July 30th at approximately 11:25am the Berkshire State Police Detective Unit was notified that a train struck a male in North Adams. The decedent was identified as Douglas Hawley (11/13/1983, North Adams). Mr. Hawley was struck by an eastbound train traveling at a low speed. The incident occurred on the tracks approximately between the American Legion (91 American Legion Drive) and the Brien Center (124 American Legion Drive. The incident is under investigation by the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.
