Internships

District Attorney Shugrue values the experiences that internships provide. Internships include assisting lawyers prepare for cases; research; law enforcement support; as well as work in specialty units. Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The positions often fill in early spring; therefore, interested applicants are encouraged to apply early.

College and first and second year law students applying for an internship should email Contact.BerkshireDA@mass.gov with the header ‘Internship”. In the body of the email please provide:

  • Name
  • School/Year of Schooling
  • Start/End Date of Availability
  • If the internship is connected to college credits
  • Area of Interest: Administrative, Child Abuse, Human Trafficking, Consumer Protection, Juvenile Justice, Legal (undergrad) or Victim Witness Services

Third year law students seeking a 3:03 should email Contact.BerkshireDA@mass.gov with the header “3:03 Internship”. In the body of the email please provide:

  • Name
  • School
  • Start/End Date of 3:03

Due to the confidential nature of the the work, the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office does not offer high school internships. The Office welcomes high school students for job shadow days. Please email Contact.BerkshireDA@mass.gov Att; Stacy Parsons, Director of Community Engagement, to request information about a job shadow day.
