On Tuesday, October 1st, Samantha C. Paige (10/13/1987: 5 Jennifer Lane, West Stockbridge) was arraigned in Southern Berkshire District Court for the September 28th alleged hit and run in Stockbridge, MA. Stockbridge Police arrested the Defendant the morning of October 1st. The alleged hit and run resulted in the death of Franklin Ripley (1/1/52: 2 Devon Road, Stockbridge). The Defendant was charged with Leave Scene of Personal Injury Resulting in Death. Judge McKenna set bail at $7,500. Ms. Paige is being held without the right to bail for a probation warrant issued by Central Berkshire District Court on an unrelated case.
The suspected hit and run case is still under investigation by the Stockbridge Police Department; the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office; and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. Additional charges could come following the conclusion of the investigation.
