On Friday, October 9th, Chase Wood (21 years old) was found guilty by a jury of his peers of multiple charges connected to an assault and battery of a minor. The Defendant was found guilty of 3 counts of Indecent Assault and Battery, 1 count of Assault and Battery, 1 count of Assault to Rape, 1 count of Indecent Assault and Battery under 14, and 3 counts of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
Today, October 16th, a judge sentenced the Defendant to 2.5 years in the House of Corrections, with an additional 2.5 years in the House of Corrections on and after the first sentence followed by three years of probation. The Commonwealth requested a total sentence of 7 to 9 years in State Prison.
On the summer 2025, the Defendant connected with three juvenile girls at a Pittsfield park. He brought alcohol to the meet up and supplied it to the minors. After consuming the alcohol, he gave the three juveniles a ride on his e-bike. At this time, he began attempting to assault the girls. Two girls were able to rebuff him but a third was unable to due to her position on the e-bike. He then took the third girl to a secluded area of the park in an attempt to further assault her. When she tried to resist him, he proceeded to violently drag her into the woods. Ultimately, all three girls were able to escape.
