April 22nd: Matthew Rutledge Arraignment with Public Statements to Follow

Pittsfield, MA- Matthew Rutledge, a former teacher at Miss Hall’s School, will be arraigned on Wednesday, April 22nd on three counts of rape. The arraignment will take place at 2pm at Berkshire Superior Court, 76 East Street Pittsfield MA. The charges stem from three alleged sexual assaults involving two of his former female students, Melissa Fares and Hilary Simon.*

District Attorney Timothy J. Shugrue, Representative Leigh Davis of the 3rd Berkshire District, Hilary Simon, and Melissa Fares will read prepared statements outside of the courthouse following the arraignment.

* The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office does not traditionally provide personally identifiable information about survivors of sexual assaults in office issued press releases; however, both Melissa Fares and Hilary Simon granted the office permission to identify them by name in press releases of this nature.
