Ending Domestic and Sexual Violence

Kassedi Clark. A beloved daughter, young mother of four, nursing student, member of our community – and one of six women murdered locally in 2019 during incidents of domestic violence.

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to prioritizing domestic and sexual violence prosecutions We accomplish this through aggressive prosecution of violent offenders, continuous education training for law enforcement and medical providers in recognizing signs of abuse, meaningful victim assistance, and partnership with community agencies to raise awareness and seek solutions.

Domestic Violence Coordinator, Kristin Rapkowicz leads the Domestic Violence High Risk Team, made up of partner organizations including law enforcement agencies, the courts, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and the Elizabeth Freeman Center. The team meets monthly and uses evidence-based risk assessments to identify and intervene with offenders who are deemed at a heightened risk of lethality regarding intimate partner violence.
