Juvenile Justice and Youth Outreach

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office utilizes juvenile diversion programs as a powerful means to support youth in our community and is actively committed to steering nonviolent youth into carefully monitored diversion programs when appropriate. Using individualized assessments, we distinguish between young people who are high risk and require significant court intervention from youth who will benefit from evidence-based therapeutic alternatives that emphasize accountability and restitution for lesser crimes without burdening them with a lifelong criminal record.
