Law Enforcement Successfully Executes Child Enticement Sting

Pittsfield, MA- On Friday, September 19th members of the Berkshire State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crimes Unit (MSP CCU), and the Massachusetts State Police Unsolved Crime Unit (MSP UCU) conducted a child enticement sting operation in the Berkshires. Law enforcement apprehended Scott Clemons, (Pittsfield) at approximately 12:30pm at a pre-arranged meeting spot in Pittsfield. Clemons was the intended target of the operation. He was taken into custody without incident.

Upon apprehending the Defendant, law enforcement conducted a search of his vehicle where they found a can of Dr. Pepper that was ‘requested’ in the enticement operation as well as numerous box cutters.

The Defendant will be arraigned next week in Central Berkshire District Court on two criminal charges:

 Enticement for Sex, Child under 16
 Attempt to Commit a Crime – Aggravated Statutory Rape
