Police Investigation and Search Warrant results in Drug Trafficking charge

(Pittsfield) On 2/3/2023 the District Attorney announced that Robert Brady (DOB. 2/14/82) of 3 Robbins Ave. in Pittsfield was arrested for distribution of cocaine following an investigation conducted by Officer Brennon Stockton and members of the Pittsfield Police Department.

As part of the investigation, Pittsfield Police initiated a motor vehicle stop on 2/2/2023 at South St. in Pittsfield, Robert Brady was found to have three bags of cocaine, $506.00 of cash, and a key for room 110 at the Knights Inn located in Lenox, MA.

The Pittsfield Police Department subsequently executed a search warrant in Lenox, MA. at the Knights Inn where two additional bags of cocaine amounting to 93 grams with a street value of $9300.00 were discovered in addition to packaging materials, a digital scale, and two cell phones.

Robert Brady has been charged with Drug Trafficking 36-100 grams of a class B substance (Crack-cocaine) He was held on $100,000 bail on this matter. His bail was revoked and then held without the right to bail due to a previous charge of distribution of cocaine subsequent offence on November 4th, 2022 which is pending. Robert Brady is scheduled to be arraigned in Berkshire Superior Court on February 7th, 2023 for the November 2022 charge.

During today’s arraignment, First Assistant District Attorney, Marianne Shelvey argued that the defendant be held based on his past record of three drug distribution convictions in addition to pending charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

The First Assistant District Attorney further argued that Robert Brady had recently been arrested in November 2022 while staying and participating in cocaine distribution at the Yankee Suites, Wagon Wheel motel, and Knights Inn in Lenox and did not have a permanent residence between July 2022 and February 2023. Robert Brady was arrested with over $10,000 cash in November 2022 and again in February 2023 with $506.00 but was unemployed both times.

First Assistant, Marianne Shelvey handled the matter, argued the bail and is prosecuting this case.
