Jeremy Stanton (11/23/1985: 122 Allengate Ave Pittsfield, MA) was charged with murder on June 12, 2024. Stanton allegedly murdered Ryan P. Babcock (6/22/1985) on June 11th.
Stanton was arrested on the evening of June 12th in a residence in Worthington, MA (Hampshire County) on unrelated outstanding warrants for violation of probation and assault with a dangerous weapon (knife) and vandalizing property from an incident on June 2nd.
Defense entered a plea of not guilty. The Defendant is being held without the right bail.
District Attorney Shugrue stated, “I commend law enforcement for identifying and apprehending a suspect in just over 24 hours. They worked diligently around the clock to keep the public safe. Bringing guns and violence into our neighborhoods is unacceptable and those who do will be brought to justice by my office.”
Law enforcement involved in Stanton’s apprehension include the Pittsfield Police Department, Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force: the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office; the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office; and Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.
