Suspect Arrested in Non-Fatal Shooting in Adams MA

Today at approx 7:00 AM in the town of Adams there was a shooting that took place involving 2 individuals who were known to one another. One party was shot and treated at the hospital for non life threatening injuries. The investigation is active and ongoing. There is not believed to be any threat to the public. Law enforcement response includes the Adams Police Department and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.

Tyler M. Bump (7/18/1998: North Adams, MA.) has been arrested and charged with the below charges in connection with the Adams shooting on Saturday, August 24th (see release below).  Bump is being held on $250,000 bail and will be arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court on Monday, August 26th. The shooting occurred on Mill Street in Adams MA.

Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 265: Section 15E – Assault & Battery by Discharging Firearm

Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 269: Section 10(a) – Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 269: Section 12E – Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of Dwelling

Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 265,: Section 18C – Home Invasion
