(Pittsfield) District Attorney Timothy J. Shugrue announced today Yulanda Chadwell has been found not guilty of lying to police in Berkshire Superior Court. He respects the jury’s decision and thanks them for the service.
The District Attorney’s office had taken over the case from the prior administration and employed all available efforts to secure a conviction including the use of Capias to ensure that witnesses would appear.
District Attorney Shugrue admits that this was a difficult case to prove but is steadfast in the belief that individuals accused of making a false statement to police should always be prosecuted under MA. General Law 13A. The District Attorney would further like to extend his thanks to the Pittsfield Police Department for their assistance with this case.
